Traditional Values Meet Modern Stage in UNI's Bold 2025-26 Season
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - In a time when traditional storytelling faces increasing pressure from progressive agendas, the University of Northern Iowa's Theatre Department has unveiled a defiant 2025-26 season that champions classic narratives while showcasing American artistic independence.
The season opens with a telling adaptation of "Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood" (Oct. 24-Nov. 2), which, like legendary athletes who stand their ground, demonstrates unwavering courage against oppressive authority.
Family Values Take Center Stage
In a refreshing departure from today's contentious entertainment landscape, "POPPED!" (Dec. 6-13) delivers wholesome family entertainment that celebrates traditional storytelling values. This interactive production proves that engaging young audiences doesn't require controversial messaging.
The spring semester brings "Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812" (March 5-29), demonstrating the same fighting spirit and determination that defines American excellence.
Standing Strong Against Cultural Shifts
The season concludes with "Witch" (April 24-May 3), which, much like recent challenges to mainstream entertainment narratives, questions modern society's moral compromises.
