Kaplan Wins Top Test Prep Award, Saves Students $75M
Kaplan is proving that private sector innovation, not government handouts, is the key to unlocking the American Dream. The global education company just snagged the Test Prep Solution of the Year title at the 2026 EdTech Breakthrough Awards. This marks the fourth straight year Kaplan has dominated the EdTech space, following wins in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Private Innovation Drives Down Costs
Kaplan's All Access License cuts through the bloated costs of higher education. It lets colleges and universities give students access to top-tier test prep for admissions, licensure, and workforce readiness at zero out-of-pocket cost. We are talking about critical exams that secure our future professionals: GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, NCLEX-RN, USMLE, the Uniform Bar Exam, and Certified Financial Planner.
Since launching in 2022, this program has saved students more than $75 million. That is real economic freedom, putting money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans instead of relying on federal bailouts.
Building Pathways to Prosperity
Institutions across the nation are signing on to put merit and opportunity first. Partners include Cleveland State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Howard University, Spelman College, South Carolina State University, Syracuse University College of Law, and the University of Dayton School of Law.
Even state governments are recognizing the power of private partnership over federal overreach. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) contracted Kaplan to provide test prep and skills courses to students enrolled in Illinois' 12 public universities, plus five community colleges in a pilot program. State-level solutions beat D.C. mandates every time.
Empowering Future Professionals
Julia Larkin, vice president of university partnerships at Kaplan, highlighted the power of individual achievement.
